Jacadi's recommendations for fine fabric care:

  • Wash your Jacadi textile clothing products before wearing
  • Jacadi does not use any chemical substances that are harmful to children's health or the environment. However, we recommend always washing new clothing prior to using it and before wearing it for the first time, to remove any dye residue.
  • Wash your Jacadi textile clothing products at the lowest temperature.
  • Jacadi tags provide instructions for the ideal care of its textile clothing products to avoid any eventual damage. However, any of the cleaning techniques below its recommendations are permissible.
  • Jacadi tests the shrinkage of all its clothing after washing for woven "fabrics."
  • Jacadi allows a maximum shrinkage of 3%–5% for knit garments. To avoid shrinkage after washing, some products should be ironed to return them to their original appearance.
  • Jacadi recommends removing all removable accessories and zipping up all zippers before washing. Delicate items like tights and stockings should be placed inside a net washing bag for protection.
  • Jacadi recommends downloading the app MON ÉTIQUETTE. This free app will help you understand the symbols shown on care instructions tags, and give you various cleaning tips.

1. CHOOSING A DETERGENT

Jacadi recommends that its customers use a good hypoallergenic detergent to protect children's skin. Jacadi also recommends avoiding bleach when cleaning textile products, because if the garment isn't thoroughly rinsed, bleach can irritate children's skin.

Jacadi textile products are not bleach resistant and should never be spot-cleaned with chlorine-based products (bleach, etc.) or those containing oxygenated bleaching agents. Jacadi recommends separating children's clothing from the family laundry, and leaving the washing machine door open between loads to avoid the proliferation of bacteria.

2. WASHING INSTRUCTIONS

Washing instructions: The care tag on your clothing is essential in making your clothing last.

Here are our explanations for the care symbols:


WASH		Wash: This "tub" symbol represents washing, the first step in clothing care. The numbers inside the tub indicate the maximum washing temperature in Celsius. When the symbol is underlined it indicates that specific precautions must be taken
A hand in the tub indicates that the item should be hand-washed only.

Example : Wash at 30°C. The double line under the tub means a very gentle wash and significantly reduced spin cycle.

BLEACH		Bleach: This "triangle" symbol means that the item can be bleached with any type of product, particularly chlorine-based (bleach) or oxygen-based.
Example : Do not use bleaching agents

DRY		 Tumble dry: This symbol gives the temperature at which your dryer should be set: 1 dot for moderate temperature, 2 dots for no restrictions.
Air dry: When this symbol contains horizontal or vertical lines in the square it means air dry.

Example :
Do not machine dry
 We recommend not wringing these items to avoid damaging them (silk shirts, sleeping bags, down jackets, viscose, etc.)

 
IRON

This iron symbol defines, with one, two or three dots, the maximum iron temperature to use.
Example : The iron shown with one dot means the temperature should be no higher than 110°, without steam.

Example : Iron on medium heat (150°)

PROFESSIONAL CLEANING

Professional Cleaning
This circle symbol is primarily for professional cleaners. The letters P, F or W designate the types of processes and solvents that can be used for the textile item. When the symbol is underlined, it indicates specific precautions that must be taken.
Example :

Can be professionally dry cleaned.
Can be wet cleaned.
Do not professionally wet clean, products may be damaged.

3. CARING FOR FINE FABRICS

Linen

Linen is a natural fabric, high-quality and delicate, that wrinkles easily. Return linen garments to their original shape by ironing with a hot steam iron. Jacadi recommends ironing linen clothing inside out to protect the fabric's appearance. In fact, air drying is recommended for all linen textile products. This product should never be tumbled dry.
Care:

Viscose
Viscose is an artificial fiber that wrinkles easily. Jacadi recommends washing viscose by hand in cold or warm water with a special hand-washing detergent. After washing viscose garments, we recommend letting them air dry and ironing them with a steam iron to return them to their original appearance. In fact, air drying is recommended for all viscose textile products.  This product should never be tumbled dry.
Care:

Silk
Silk is a natural fiber, high-quality and very delicate, that requires special care. Before hand washing, Jacadi recommends checking the garment's tag to make sure instructions do not indicate "Dry clean only." If the tag says "professional dry clean only," professional wet cleaning is automatically prohibited.
Care:

Wool
Wool is a natural fiber, high-quality and delicate, that requires special care. Jacadi recommends using a delicate wool cycle for all wool items. Items must be ironed after washing to return them to their original appearance. When washing wool items, special "wool" detergent should be used. If you do not have a special detergent for washing wool, you can use a gentle, pH-neutral soap or diluted baby shampoo. For greasy spots, use talc or cornstarch in addition to your detergent. Jacadi recommends air drying for all wool textile products.

To keep wool from pilling, it is best to use a pill remover or razor blade.
Care:

Cashmere
Cashmere is a high-quality, delicate fabric. Jacadi selects the finest fibers for its cashmere items that require special care to preserve their original appearance and softness. That's why Jacadi recommends machine washing cashmere items with a special wool detergent, using a "delicate wool cycle" with a temperature between 20°C and 30°C, and a spin cycle of no more that 600 rotations per minute. There's no need to add fabric softener; cashmere is naturally soft after washing. Jacadi also recommends washing by hand, following the same instructions as for machine washing. Do not wring the garment. Cashmere items must be laid flat and air dried. Keep them out of direct sunlight and away from any heat sources while drying to preserve their original shape and color. Item can be ironed on low heat if wrinkled.

What's the best way to remove pills?
Cashmere sweaters may pill. Pills can be removed either:
● by hand
● with tweezers
● with a pill remover

4. CLOTHING

Wool coats:
Wool coats must be professionally dry cleaned. Jacadi recommends using an anti-pilling razor to remove any pills that may appear.

Jeans:
Jacadi recommends washing jeans in cold water if they don't have visible stains, and machine washing them less often at 30°C, to preserve the original appearance of the denim. Jeans should be washed inside out to avoid white threads and maintain their original wash look for as long as possible. Jacadi jeans are dyed using a unique process that lets them keep their raw appearance. They may sometimes release residual dye, even after washing. Jacadi recommends washing denim jeans separately, inside out, and at 30°C every time, to avoid staining other clothing.

Down jackets:
Down jackets require specific washing techniques. Down jackets must be machine washed inside out on a special synthetics cycle at 30°C, with tennis balls added to the tub to aerate the down during washing. Jacadi also recommends using a special synthetics dryer cycle, with tennis balls added to help spread the down evenly. To avoid the formation of compact balls within the jacket, it's also important to make sure the down is completely dry. For this type of textile product, Jacadi recommends removing the hood prior to washing.

Jacadi recommends washing  contrasting two-tone garments at 30°C with similar colors, and inside out to avoid dye seepage  from other garments.

5. CARING FOR YOUR JACADI FOOTWEAR

Jacadi shoes are made with care from quality leather. Leather is a living, breathing material that must be protected and treated regularly to conserve its suppleness and beauty. That's why we offer a line of cleaning products perfectly adapted for little shoes.

Leather Conditioner
Leather conditioner is used for smooth leather shoes. It cleans, nourishes, softens and protects leather.

How is it used?

  • Always apply before polishing your shoes.
  • Shake the bottle and apply a small amount of product to the shoe using a cloth.
  • Let dry 5-10 min, then shine with a soft cloth or apply shoe polish directly.
Leather Cream
Leather cream is used for smooth leather shoes. It nourishes the leather, brightens colors, and provides long-lasting shine.

How is it used?
  • Remove dust from the shoe using a brush.
  • Spread on a little cream, and let dry.
  • Shine with a soft cloth.
Nourishing Gel
Nourishing gel cleans, nourishes and protects delicate leathers.

How is it used?
  • Clean the item with a soft brush to remove dust.
  • Using a clean cotton cloth, apply a dab of gel, using circular movements across the surface of the leather.
  • Let dry.
  • Shine with a soft brush.
Glow Renewal Spray
Glow renewal spray is used to renew the color of suede or nubuck shoes.

How is it used?
  • Remove dust from the shoe using a crepe brush.
  • Spray shoe at a distance of 15 cm.
  • Let dry for around 15 minutes.
Protective Mist
Protective mist can be used for all types of leather (except patent and glacé leather). It protects leather from external damage (water and stains).

How is it used?
  • Remove dust using a brush or cloth.
  • Spray evenly over the shoe, paying special attention to seams and folds.
  • Let dry 30 minutes.
  • Treat shoes as often as needed, and after every cleaning, shine, and exposure to rain, for best results. Do not rub in.
